For the ten years of my life, I was lucky enough to live very close to my beloved Grandpa and Grandma Merrill. I have hundreds of memories. Here are some of my favorites: Lawrence Welk every Sunday night. Grandma wearing her baseball cap and keeping baseball stats for the games she recorded. Grandpa visiting my school on official business. Finding Grandma's pin up picture to Grandpa (bathing suit and all). Grandpa asking to see a new bathing suit I had just purchased. When I showed it to him he ask me how much it cost. I reported I had paid $25 for it. He told me I should have paid the other $25 and bought the rest of it. Grandma babysitting me when mom substituted. Grandpa letting us dig to China in the sandbox. Tape recorded stories sent with us when we moved to Iowa. The smell and taste of hot bread. Dress up jewelry. The Boogie man in the basement. Pretty flowers in the yard. The care they gave to their own parents as they aged. Testimonies, prayers, attending as many events of mine as they could, but most of all I have felt pure love, even when I may have disappointed them. They always loved me.
I love and adore you both!Renee
Renee's kids memories
Branden (9)- grandma and grandpa are awesome. They always have treats eating for us. They love us and they are my family.
Ashten (5)- I like grandma and grandma's chairs because they lift them up and down. And they let me play in them.
Colby (12)- watching the 4th of July parade and getting to throw candy from the back of the parade.
Shelby (15) One of the memories I have I gma and Gpa is when gpa would poke my belly when i was little after I was down eating to make sure I was full. I remember gma always giving me chocolate clusters and both of them catchig up with me and check up on my life. He would also ask us who we Thought our future loves would be like. Love my grandpa and grandma very much
